PLAB Training - Importance
PLAB is the short form of Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board. This is a test and is conducted by General Medical Council or GMC of UK. Any sort of maintenance of standard and regulation related to medical profession in UK is the responsibility of the statutory body called GMC or General Medical Council. PLAB 2 Course consists of objective questions and the form of questioning is known as OSCE or Objective Structured Clinical Examination. Objective of this test is to assess the communication and clinical skills of the candidate. Get to Know the Eligibility Criteria from Your PLAB Training Institute
You can be eligible for taking PLAB test if they fulfil certain primary criteria and they are:
- You need to be a doctor and should possess an acceptable primary medical qualification
- You should have completed an internship programme of 12 months successfully. Equivalent experience that is accepted by General Medical Council is also permissible.
- English knowledge test is required to be passed by you. You need to secure an overall IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 7.0 to become eligible for sitting for PLAB test. IELTS examination has two parts: Speaking section and another section consisting of Academic Writing, Reading and Listening. In these individual sections, a candidate has to secure a minimum score of 7.0 in the former and 6.0 in the later.
